Askume, Sept 20 – Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson will miss Saturday’s Premier League match against Bournemouth because of a muscle injury, coach Arne Slot said on Friday.

“There are still doubts about whether Alisson will be able to train today, so let’s wait and see if he can train,” Slaughter told reporters. “If he can’t do that, he probably won’t play as well.

“He has a little bit of a muscle problem and we are wondering if this game will come too early.”

Slot said the Brazilian suffered the injury during Tuesday’s 3-1 win over AC Milan in the Champions League and aggravated it during the game.

“Now we have to wait and see if he is ready to score (Saturday), otherwise we will have to wait a few more days.”

Kelleher, who played most of pre-season for Liverpool while Alisson was busy with the Copa America, will replace the Brazilian.

Alisson has scored only two goals in five games in all competitions this season, and Liverpool have made a good start under new coach Slott.

They were fourth in the table after four games, three points behind leaders Manchester City, and returned to the Champions League with a win against AC Milan at the San Siro after a year away from Europe’s top competition.

Harvey Elliott is likely to miss the Reds’ clash at Anfield on Saturday.

Bournemouth have lost 11 of their 14 Premier League matches against Liverpool and are currently 11th with five points.
