TOKYO, Sept 21 (Askume) – Japanese company Icom (6820.T) said it was unlikely that the wireless device that exploded in Lebanon was its product.

A walkie-talkie used by the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah exploded on Wednesday, bearing the words “Icom” and “Made in Japan.”

“Based on various information that has emerged to date, it is highly unlikely that the wireless device that exploded was our product,” Icom said in a statement released Friday.
