21 September – Third seed Beatrice Haddad Maia of Brazil beat the Kudermetova sisters to reach the final of the Korea Open in Seoul on Saturday.

Haddad Maia defeated Russia’s Polina Kudermetova 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals, then beat Veronica Kudermetova 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals, her 11th win in the last 13 matches. Both matches were played on Saturday, the previous day’s play was cancelled due to rain.

Earlier in the day, Veronika Kudermetova entered the semi-finals after defeating Bulgaria’s Viktoria Tomova 7-5, 6-3.

Russian top seed Daria Kasatkina reached the final on Saturday by beating former US Open champion Emma Raducanu and Russian fourth seed Diana Schnyder. Kasatkina won the first set 6-1, but Raducanu decided to retire from the match with a foot injury. She then defeated Schnyder 6-3, 6-4 in 77 minutes.

Kasatkina and Hadadamia will face off in the final on Sunday.

Thailand Open

Germany’s Laura Siegemund and Slovakia’s Rebecca Slamkova reached the final of the Hua Hin Championships in straight sets.

Siegemund hit two aces and two double faults to beat Dutch player Ariana Hartono 6-3, 6-3.

Slamkova saved four of seven break point opportunities to beat Slovenian Tamara Zidansek 6-4, 6-2 in just 84 minutes.
