MANCHESTER, England, Sept 21 (Askume) – Manchester United beat West Ham United 3-0 at home on Saturday, with Brighton newcomer Kiko Seck scoring a superb hat-trick at the Etihad.

Brazilian forward Gas gave the Red Devils the lead in the 28th minute and Leah Galton added another goal in the first half to put the team 2-0 up at halftime.

West Ham struggled to contain the home side’s attack but Grace Clinton made it three in the 53rd minute to help last season’s FA Cup champions win their first league game.

However, it was not enough to top the table as Brighton’s Thicke changed his style and scored three goals, while debutant Fran Kirby scored a penalty for the Seagulls, helping them to a win at home against Everton.

In the first half, Seck started off with a superb long-range shot; in the second half, she delivered the ball into the top corner, completing the first hat-trick in WSL history and helping the team reach the top of the standings. The ball was delivered.

Defending champions Chelsea kicked off the new season with a 1-0 win at home to Aston Villa on Friday night, with the big clash of the weekend coming on Sunday when title contenders Arsenal and Manchester City meet in London.
