Askume Washington, Sept. 21 – US Vice President Kamala Harris, Oct. 23The Democratic nominee has accepted CNN’s invitation to participate in another debate against Donald Trump , his campaign said on Saturday, urging his Republican rivals to face him less than two weeks before the Nov. 5 presidential election.

    “Vice President Harris is ready to share the stage with Donald Trump again and has accepted CNN’s invitation to debate on October 23,” Harris campaign chairwoman Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement. “Join us at this debate.”

    When asked about Harris accepting CNN’s invitation, a Trump spokesperson pointed to the Republican former president’s previous statement that there would be no debate.

    Harris and Trump had their first debate on September 10, and polls showed the Democratic candidate won.

    Trump said last week that he would not participate in another debate against Harris before the election.

    The former president wrote on his social media site Truth Social last Thursday, “There will be no third debate!”

    Trump debated President Joe Biden before facing Harris in June.

    Biden’s poor performance in that debate rattled Democrats and prompted strategists to ask whether their party should take the unprecedented step of nominating an 81-year-old president. Biden in JulyDropped out of the race for the White House .
