Sept. 23 — Joshua Carty kicked a 37-yard field goal with 2 seconds remaining, and the Los Angeles Rams scored 13 points in the final 6:15 for an improbable 27-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Inglewood.

Matthew Stafford completed 16 of 25 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown, while Kyren Williams threw for 89 yards and two touchdowns, along with two touchdowns, as the Rams (1-2) snapped a five-game losing streak.

Niners quarterback Brock Purdy completed 22 of 30 passes for 292 yards and three touchdowns to Jauan Jennings, who had 11 catches for 175 yards. Jordan Mason ran for 77 yards for San Francisco (1-2).

Carty’s field goal with 6 minutes left in the game capped a 55-yard Rams field goal with 1:51 remaining and extended the lead to 24–17. He ran for 3 more yards to tie the game at 24–24.

Los Angeles forced San Francisco to punt with less than a minute remaining and rookie Xavier Smith returned the ball 38 yards to the 50-yard line. A 49ers pass interference penalty moved the ball to the San Francisco 19-yard line before Carty kicked the game-winning field goal in just his third NFL game.

Panthers 36, Raiders 22

Andy Dalton threw three touchdown passes to lead Carolina’s frustrating offense past host Las Vegas.

Dalton, a 36-year-old veteran who became a journeyman after beginning his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, replaced 2023 No. 1 draft pick Bryce Young just three games into the season. Dalton completed 26 of 37 passes for 319 yards and no interceptions.

Chuba Hubbard rushed 21 times for 114 yards and caught five passes for 55 yards and a score for the Panthers (1-2). Gardner Minshew completed 18 of 28 passes in the fourth quarter for the Raiders (1-2), including an interception and a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jakobi Meyers.

Ravens 28, Cowboys 25

Derrick Henry rushed 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns, and Baltimore survived a late comeback from Dallas to win the season in Arlington, Texas’ first win of the season.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Kavontae Turpin to put Dallas ahead with 2:53 left. However, the Cowboys didn’t take a timeout and Lamar Jackson rushed 10 yards after the two-minute warning to seal the win for Baltimore (1-2).

Jackson threw for 182 yards and a touchdown and ran for 87 yards and a score. Prescott completed 28 of 51 passes for 379 yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Jake Ferguson had six catches for 95 yards for the Cowboys (1-2).

Giants 21, Browns 15

Daniel Jones threw two touchdown passes to Malik Nabers to give New York a stunning win over host Cleveland.

Jones completed 24 of 34 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns to Nabers, who had eight catches for 78 yards. Devin Singletary rushed for a touchdown, Dexter Lawrence had two of the Giants’ eight sacks, and New York (1-2) limited Cleveland’s total yards to 217.

Deshaun Watson completed 21 of 37 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns for the Browns (1-2). Amari Cooper caught seven passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

Colts 21, Bears 16

Jonathan Taylor ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns, Trey Sermon ran for a touchdown and Jaylen Jones threw two interceptions to lead host Indianapolis beat Chicago.

Indianapolis (1-2) overcame two interceptions by Anthony Richardson and a suspect run defense to find success in its ground game. The Colts rushed for 150 yards, while the Bears (1-2) rushed for 63 yards.

Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams, the No. 1 pick in April’s draft, completed 33 of 52 passes for a career-high 363 yards and a career-high 363 yards passing. The first two touchdown passes were thrown with two interceptions. Williams also threw a strip sack, setting up Taylor’s 1-yard score with 5:22 remaining and the Colts ahead 21-9.

Vikings 34, Texans 7

Sam Darnold threw four touchdown passes, Aaron Jones returned a kickoff for 148 yards and a score, and Minnesota beat Houston in Minneapolis.

Darnold completed 17 of 28 passes for 181 yards for Minnesota (3-0). Jones rushed for 102 yards on 19 carries and had five catches for 46 yards and a touchdown.

CJ Stroud completed 20 of 31 passes for 215 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for Houston (2-1). With starter Joe Mixon injured, the Texans struggled on the ground, with Cam Akers only completing nine carries for 21 yards.

Eagles 15, Saints 12

Saquon Barkley ran for 147 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning 4-yard field goal with 1:01 remaining, to help Philadelphia defeat host New Orleans.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts passed for 311 yards and Dallas Goedert had 10 catches for 170 yards, including a 61-yard reception that set up the game-winning score. Barkley scored a 65-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to give Philadelphia a 7–3 lead.

The Eagles (2-1) faced the Saints’ high-scoring attack, which averaged 45.5 points in its first two games. Derek Carr, who led the NFL in passer rating (142.4) when entering the game, completed only 14 of 25 passes for 142 yards, a touchdown and an interception for New Orleans (2-1).

Steelers 20, Chargers 10

Justin Fields threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Kelvin Austin III to highlight his stellar second-half performance, giving host Pittsburgh a win over Los Angeles.

Fields’ connection with Austin with 7:02 remaining sealed the win and added insult to injury for Los Angeles (2-1), which lost quarterback Justin Herbert to an ankle problem and Joey Bosa is also out with an injury.

Fields passed for 245 yards, a touchdown and an interception, 25-of-32 passing. He also competes for points. Austin had four catches for 95 yards for the Steelers (3-0). Herbert completed 12 of 18 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with more than seven minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Broncos 26, Buccaneers 7

Quarterback Bo Nix completed 25 of 36 passes for 216 yards and ran for a 47-yard touchdown to give Denver its first NFL win over Tampa Bay.

Tyler Badie ran for 70 yards, Courtland Sutton caught seven passes for 68 yards and the Broncos (1-2) held Tampa in check in the second half. Wil Lutz completed all four field goal attempts for Denver – of 43, 38, 33 and 43 yards.

The Buccaneers’ Baker Mayfield completed 25 of 33 passes for 163 yards and threw a touchdown and an interception. Bucky Irving led Tampa Bay (2-1) with 70 yards rushing, while Chris Godwin caught six passes for 53 yards and a score.

Packers 30, Titans 14

Malik Willis threw for a touchdown and ran for another touchdown to lead Green Bay past Tennessee in Nashville.

Last month, Willis completed 13 of 19 passes for 202 yards and 73 yards on the ground against the team that traded him for a seventh-round draft pick, by far the best game of his three-year NFL career. Green Bay (2-1) also got three field goals from kicker Braden Narveson, who was in training camp at Tennessee.

Tennessee quarterback Will Lewis completed 26 of 34 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns. The second-year signal-caller had eight sacks and two interceptions, helping the Titans (who rushed for just 33 yards) fall to 0-3. The Packers dominated in total yardage and outgained the Titans 378-237.

Seahawks 24, Dolphins 3

Jack Charbonnet threw for a career-best 91 yards and two touchdowns and the defense did the rest as Seattle beat Miami.

DK Metcalf had a 71-yard touchdown reception and Jason Myers kicked a 56-yard field goal for the Seahawks (3-0).

Seattle’s defense limited the Dolphins (1-2) to 205 yards of total offense. Skyler Thompson, who took over the quarterback spot for Miami after Tua Tagovailoa was placed on injured reserve due to a concussion, completed 13 of 19 passes for 107 yards but was sacked five times. Thompson left the game with 9:35 minutes remaining in the third quarter because of a chest injury.

Lions 20, Cardinals 13

Jared Goff threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns and Detroit beat Arizona in Glendale, Arizona.

Goff also had an interception and completed 18 of 23 passes. David Montgomery rushed 23 times for 105 yards and a touchdown for the Lions (2-1).

Kyler Murray passed for 207 yards and a touchdown with an interception for the Cardinals (1-2). Marvin Harrison Jr. caught five passes for 64 yards and a score.
