September 29 – Carson Pickett, Angelina and Marta scored goals to help host Orlando defeat Houston.

The Pride (16-0-6, 54 points) have lost 23 consecutive league games since the season finale last year.

Yuki Nagato scored for Houston (4-13-5, 17 points), which finished last in the 14-team league.

In the 29th minute, Piquet received a long pass from Corey Deck and scored. In the 51st minute, Angelina shot with her right foot from outside the penalty area into the top left corner of the net, giving Orlando a 2-0 lead. This was her second goal of the season.

Two minutes later, Nagar’s left-footed shot found the right corner to cut Houston’s lead in half. It was his second goal of the season.

Utah Royals 1, Louisville Athletic 0

Ana Tejada’s powerful kick in the 78th minute put Utah ahead over Racing Louisville in Sandy, Utah.

Tejada lobbed a short pass to Claudia Zornosa just outside the penalty area, who promptly slapped the ball back. Tejada smashed a long-range shot with her right foot into the left corner of the net and the Royals (5-14-3, 18 points) ended a three-game losing streak and moved out of the NWSL basement.

Katie Lund made four saves for Louisville (6-9-7, 25 points), which ended Louisville’s two-game winning streak.
