You may know Nara Smith as the model and TikTok star whose ASMR cooking videos keep popping up on your For You page. But this time around at Paris Fashion Week, Smith traded in her (very attractive) kitchen for the front row at Miu Miu. Smith, who arrived in the City of Lights with her husband Lucky Blue Smith and daughter Whimsy Lou, the youngest of her three children, prepped with Askew ahead of her speech and shared how to manage a busy mom’s schedule. “The secret to traveling with kids is to just do it,” she said. “You get out, get to your destination, and then ask yourself how you got there.”
Smith’s Miu Miu day began with a brief glamorous meeting at the hotel. For hair, Smith opted for a simple, smooth ponytail, and her makeup vibe was all about “giving the eyes a little structure,” Smith says. As her glam team gets to work, the model and content creator discusses her favorite aspects of Paris. “I love the food,” Smith said. “Croissants — when it comes to pastries, no one makes it like the French. I’ve never actually tried making a croissant, so I’ll report back another time.” (We should see Smith making croissants immediately.)
For those who don’t know, Smith often talks to her followers about her many traditional recipes in a slow, soothing voice. “I’ve always had a passion for [cooking],” Smith told Askew. “It’s evolved into this in the last year or two because I’ve been dealing with eczema and an autoimmune disease. It’s forced me to look at food from a different perspective. So I started doing a lot of things myself.
As the finishing touches were being put on the job, the conversation turned to Smith’s kitchen essentials. “Having a sharp knife makes a huge difference, and having a good pan makes you prepared,” she says. Before talking about her look, Smith also talked about her relationship with Lucky, who often makes cameos in her cooking videos. This Fashion Month, they’ve walked in shows like Burberry and Gucci together, and Smith even spotted her husband walking in the Ralph Lauren show in the Hamptons. “It’s always fun to watch him walk,” Smith said. “I love going to the shows with him because he’s my best friend and it’s always fun to walk and work with your best friends.”
Smith then put on her Miu Miu outfit – a shiny black coat, blue button-down shirt and black bra and brief set. She revealed that her style has changed a lot since becoming a mother and she has been experimenting with it recently. “I decided to wear more dresses during my pregnancy because that was the only clothes I could afford, so I stopped buying maternity clothes,” she said. But at the end of the day, her style remains simple. “I don’t really put myself in any box,” she said. “I just wear what I like.” Watch the full video above.
