Sept 9 (Askume) – Digital news site Business Insider said on Monday it has appointed Jamie Heller as its new editor-in-chief, replacing Nicholas Carlson, who announced his departure earlier this year.

Heller spent more than 20 years at The Wall Street Journal, where he was responsible for its global business and technology coverage, including artificial intelligence and the dominance of the tech giants.

“I’ve also been a fan of Business Insider for a long time,” Heller said in a statement. “I subscribed to Business Insider a few years ago — it’s great. Now, I’m extremely excited to lead this effort and reach new heights with this massive publication.”

In May , Carlson announced his decision to step down and said he would remain at the company as editor-in-chief once a new editor-in-chief was appointed.

Business Insider is a news website created by German media group Axel Springer in 2007. It was originally launched as “Silicon Alley Insider” and focuses on new startups and technology. Over time, its scope expanded to finance, markets, and various other industries.
