10 September – UFC president Dana White says he hopes Conor McGregor will return to the Octagon in “early 2025”.

McGregor has not competed since his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.

The 36-year-old Irishman had to withdraw from his UFC 303 fight with Michael Chandler in June due to a broken toe.

McGregor, a former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, competed at UFC 310 in Las Vegas last December.

Speaking to the New York Post ahead of Saturday’s UFC on Noche event, White confirmed McGregor won’t return before the end of the year.

“Let me tell you, I’m the one who said this year I didn’t think he was going to play this year, despite all the talk and everything,” White said. “Conor McGregor will fight next year, early 2025.”
