September 11 – Matt Wallner doubles, homers and drives in three runs, as the Minnesota Twins beat the Los Angeles Angels, 10–5, in Minneapolis (Los Angeles Angels).

Kyle Farmer went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs for Minnesota (77-68), which snapped a four-game losing streak. Carlos Santana hit a two-run homer and Ryan Jeffers went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Zach Neto went 2-for-3 with a double, a homer and three RBIs to lead the Angels (60-85). Taylor Ward went 1 of 3 with an RBI.

Twins right-hander Pablo Lopez (15-8) made his fourth consecutive start.

López allowed four runs, all unearned, on eight hits in seven innings. He also walked one and struck out 10, his second-highest strikeout total of the season.

Angels right-hander Griffin Canning (5-13) gave up 10 runs (9 ERA) on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. He walked three times and fanned four times.

The Twins scored four runs in the second inning. Jeffers started the scoring with an RBI single to center, and Farmer followed two batters later with a three-run shot to left.

The blast was Farmer’s fifth home run of the season and his second in as many games. He has had at least one hit in six of the last seven games.

Wallner made it 5-0 in the third inning with a 444-foot home run to right field, his 12th home run this year.

Minnesota was up 6-0 at the end of the third quarter. Trevor Larnach scored on a Jeffers sacrifice fly.

Los Angeles cut the gap to 6–4 in the fifth inning. Ward hit an RBI single to right and Neto followed with a triple to center in the next at-bat.

Neto’s 428-foot blast was his 21st home run of 2024, one short of Ward’s 22 for the team lead.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Santana hit a two-run homer to center right field, increasing the Twins’ lead to 8–4. It was his 21st home run of the season.

Wollner hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to give the Twins a 10–4 lead.

Jordan Adams capped the scoring with an RBI single in the ninth.
