MOSCOW, Sept 11 (Askume) – A Russian Tu-160 strategic bomber flew over the Barents Sea and Norwegian waters as part of a large-scale naval exercise, Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday, citing Defence Ministry sources.

He said the flights were part of Russia’s “Ocean 2024” exercises launched a day earlier.

The exercise, the largest since the Soviet era, will involve more than 90,000 troops, over 400 ships and 125 aircraft and will run until September 16. The scope of the exercise includes the Pacific and Arctic Oceans as well as the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas and parts of the Caspian Sea.
