Askume, Sept 11 – Russia attacked the town of Kostyani Tynivka in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region on Wednesday, killing three women and wounding five others, prosecutors said.

The prosecutor general’s office said on the Telegram messaging app that Russian troops shelled a residential area of the city, about 14 kilometers (9 miles) from the combat zone, killing two elderly women.

Russian troops attacked another residential area, possibly using self-propelled rocket launchers, killing a middle-aged woman and wounding five other civilians, the report said.

The Donetsk region, which is partially occupied by Russian troops, has been regularly bombarded by Russian artillery and air strikes.

Moscow denies targeting civilians or civilian infrastructure in its assault on Ukraine, though its attacks have killed thousands.
