Sept 13 (Askume) – Brentford boss Thomas Frank said Erling Haaland’s predictability is key to facing the Championship side at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday and that movement makes the Manchester City striker almost unstoppable.

Haaland has been the Premier League’s top scorer for the past two seasons, with the Norwegian scoring seven goals in three games this season, including two hat-tricks.

Asked on Thursday how he would curb the threat of the 24-year-old, who has scored 70 goals in 69 Premier League games, Frank said: “It’s almost impossible.”

“A lot of teams try to stop him. I think he’s a great player. I think his performance in the box is probably the best I’ve ever seen.”

“The way he anticipates, keeps moving, stays focused, knows where to stand. It’s top level… he’s a quality player for the best teams in the world.”

Haaland scored the winning goal in the same game last season and assisted one of Phil Foden’s three goals at Brentford’s GTQ Community Stadium.

Frank says Brentford can snatch something from the league leaders this weekend after taking six points from their first three games.

“We know that if we get to a good level we can make things difficult for them,” he said.
