Ronaldo scored his 900th career goal last week, helping Portugal beat Croatia 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League, and became the first person to have over 1 billion followers on social media, according to global media reports.

“We made history and reached 1 billion fans! It’s more than just a number, it’s a testament to our shared passion, inspiration and love for the game and beyond,” Ronaldo posted on X.

“You’ve been with me every step of the way, every up and down. This journey has been ours… Thank you for believing in me, supporting me and being a part of my life.”

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player achieved this feat with over 639 million followers on Instagram, 170 million followers on Facebook and 113 million followers on Tumblr.

The 39-year-old , who topped Forbes’ list of highest-paid athletes this year , has a massive social media following and has earned $60 million in off-court earnings.

Ronaldo’s club Al Nasr will face Al Ahli in the Saudi Professional League on Friday.
