BRUSSELS, Sept 13 (Askume) – Charleroi Airport in Belgium, home to budget airline Ryanair (RYA.I) , cancelled all flights from Charleroi Airport in Belgium for the second consecutive day on Friday due to a strike by airport workers.

“Charleroi Airport has announced a joint strike. All flights scheduled for this Friday are cancelled,” Charleroi Airport said in a statement. Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport and to contact their airline.

At least 87 flights are scheduled to depart from the airport on Friday, according to its website, including six flights from Brussels Airport, which is about 70 kilometers (44 miles) away.

The union CNE told Belgian media on Thursday that the strike was an unsanctioned strike as the union was still organising action announced last week.

Negotiations between unions and the airport to improve the working conditions of employees have been going on for months.
