NEW YORK, Sept 13 (Askume) – More than a quarter of young black people say they would vote for Congress in this year’s U.S. presidential election.will support Republican candidate Donald Trump , an NAACP poll showed Friday.

Black voters have long been the most loyal Democratic voters, but some young black voters and black people of all ages have lost faith in the Democratic Party during the tenure of Democratic President Joe Biden . Black voters played a major role in sending Biden to the White House in 2020, and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris hopes to use their support to win the November 5 presidential election .

According to the latest NAACP survey of 1,000 registered black voters across the United States from August 6 to August 12, a majority of black voters (63%) plan to support Harris, while 13% plan to support Trump.

But 26% of black men under 50 said they support Trump, while 49% backed Harris. Among black men over 50, 77% said they support Harris.

67 percent of Black women said they support Harris, and 8% said they support Trump.

The survey found that the top concerns of Black voters are the economy, crime and public safety, while the cost of food and groceries, housing and utilities are the biggest financial stressors. 82% of Black men under the age of 50 consider economic issues to be one of the most important issues facing the country today, while 75% of Black women of all ages believe the same.

The survey found that voter messages that highlight attacks on rights are most likely to motivate undecided voters and young Black people.
