Sept. 14 – Jake Little allowed only two hits in six scoreless innings, Logan Driscoll hit his first career home run and Jonathan Aranda also scored on a deep ball, as the visiting Tampa Bay Rays beat the Cleveland Guardians 3–1 on Friday night.

Little (7-9) allowed only a double to Jose Ramirez in the first inning and a triple to Josency Noel in the second. The right-hander pitched five scoreless innings Sunday at Baltimore, allowing five without walks, and extended the Rays’ scoreless streak at Philadelphia to 13 innings (73-75) after winning the first two of those four games earlier in the week and losing all three games this season.

Cleveland’s Tanner Beebe (11-8) gave up all three runs on two homers for Tampa Bay, allowing eight hits and striking out nine in six innings. David Fry’s RBI double off the top of the 19-foot left-field wall in the eighth inning provided the only run for the AL Central-leading Guardians (84-64), who allowed a total of three runs and nine hits in a winning set of the first two games.

Tampa Bay scored first by hitting four consecutive BBs in the third inning. After José Siri failed to clear the center field wall, Driscoll hit a long shot into the right field seats for his historic home run and put the Rays ahead 2–1.

Rays teammate Christopher Morrell was hit on right base in the bottom of the inning but immediately left the game because of a strained right Achilles tendon, according to the team.

One inning later, Aranda hit a ball off Bibby into the right-front row seats to give Tampa Bay a 3–0 lead.

Rays relievers Kevin Kelly, Mason Montgomery and Edwin Ursheta (three saves) worked 1 2/3 innings, allowing a combined two hits and Cleveland’s only run.

Sealy had two hits for Tampa Bay, which improved to 4–1 in the 2024 season series against the Guardians.

Meanwhile, Noel recorded half of Cleveland’s four hits.
