Askume Sept 14 – Naomi Osaka has parted ways with coach Wim Fissette after four years and two coaching spells, the 26-year-old Naomi Osaka announced late on Friday.
The former world number one won two of her four Grand Slam titles under the Belgian’s tutelage but is currently ranked 75th after returning to the tour from maternity leave nine months ago.
“Four years, two big milestones, and so many memories,” Osaka wrote in an Instagram post.
“Thank you Wim, you are a great coach and an even greater person. I wish you all the best.”
Osaka has participated in 16 tournaments this season and has reached only the quarterfinals in Doha and has failed to reach the second round at any of the four Japanese Grand Slam tournaments.
