DUBAI, Sept 14 (Askume) – Iran’s foreign minister said Tehran was ready to resolve disputes through diplomatic means but was not prepared to succumb to “threats and pressure”, state media reported on Saturday. It comes after the United States and three European powers imposed sanctions on the country’s aviation industry.

Abbas Araqchi’s remarks came a day after the EU’s top diplomat said the bloc was considering new sanctions targeting Iran’s aviation industry in response to reports that Tehran is supplying ballistic missiles to Russia in its war with Ukraine.

“Iran is firmly on its path, although we have always been ready to resolve disputes through dialogue… but dialogue should be based on mutual respect, not threats and pressure,” Araqchi said, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency.

Araqchi said on Wednesday that Tehran had not supplied any ballistic missiles to Russia and that sanctions on Iran by the United States and the three European powers would not resolve any issues between them.

The United States, Germany, Britain and France imposed new sanctions on Iran on Tuesday , including action against its national airline Iran Air.
