September 15 – José Turner had two hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs on Saturday afternoon, while Joey Gallo and Juan Yepez also homered to lead the host Washington Nationals to a 4–1 victory over the Miami Marlins.

It was the seventh time this season that Washington (67-81) hit three or more home runs in a game. Keibert Ruiz had two runs and two hits for the Nationals, who recorded their second consecutive win of the season over Miami and improved to 10-2.

Patrick Corbin (6-13) continued his stellar season with his fourth win in his last five starts, allowing one run on three hits in six innings. He gave up one walk and struck out six. Kyle Finnegan pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his 38th save.

Otto Lopez went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, and Jonah Blades had two hits, including a double, and scored for Miami (55-94), which had lost its fifth in its last six games. Valente Bellozzo (2-4) took the loss, allowing three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out four.

Miami took a 1–0 lead in the second inning when Blades’s two-run double to right-center was followed by Jesus Sanchez’s grounder to third and Lopez’s single to left.

Washington tied the game 1–1 with Gallo’s seventh home run of the season, a 401-footer that hit the right field seats.

In the fourth, Turner hit an infield single to give the Nationals a 2–1 lead, then stole second and scored on Ruiz’s single.

Turner hit his third home run of the year in the sixth inning to make the score 3–1, a 412-foot hit to right center.

Yepez hit his sixth home run in the eighth inning against Jorge Soriano from the left field bullpen, increasing Washington’s lead to 4–1.
