Sep 15 (Askume) – England’s limited-overs captain Jos Buttler will miss the one-day international series against Australia as he recovers from a calf injury, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Sunday. Batsman Harry Brook will lead the side in his absence.
Due to this injury, 34-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Butler has also been ruled out of the ongoing three-match Twenty20 series against Australia. The series is tied at 1-1 and the deciding match will be played on Sunday.
20-year-old pitcher Josh Hull has also been ruled out of the series due to a quadriceps injury. The ECB said all-rounder Liam Livingstone has been added to the ODI squad.
The first ODI of the five-match series will be played at Trent Bridge on Thursday.
