COLOGNE, Sept 16 (Askume) – German police and prosecutors are investigating a bomb explosion in central Cologne on Monday, a police spokesman said, adding there was no indication of a terrorist motive behind the crime.

The explosion damaged commercial property on the Hohenzollern ring road and one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries, the spokesman said.

Damage was visible outside a nightclub called Vanity in the western city.

A spokesman declined to confirm any links between the bombings in North Rhine-Westphalia in recent months and an organised crime gang, but said all possibilities were being investigated.
