Sept. 17 – New England Patriots linebacker Javion Bentley will miss the remainder of the season due to a pectoral muscle injury, according to multiple media reports Monday night.

Bentley suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s 23-20 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Earlier Monday, ESPN reported that the condition was not serious.

The Patriots (1-1) have a short week, with Bentley expected to face the New York Jets on Thursday.

Bentley, now 28, will remain the supervisor for the remainder of the season. Bentley had 12 tackles and a sack in the first two games of the season.

In seven NFL seasons with New England, Bentley accumulated 509 tackles, 10.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 83 career games (68 starts).
