Sept 16 (Askume) – Bank of America Corp (BAC.N) has appointed former Citigroup Inc (C.N) chief accounting officer Johnbull Okpara to the same position , according to a memo seen by Askume.

Okpala, who resigned earlier this month after nearly four years at Citi , replaces Bank of America’s longtime accounting chief Rudolf Blass.

A memo sent last week by Bank of America treasurer Alastair Borthwick showed that Okpara, who joined in December, would work alongside Blaise during a transition period through 2025.

During this time, Bryce will consider his future plans, the memo said.

“JohnBull is a seasoned veteran of our industry, having held senior roles primarily relating to corporate governance, strategic and financial planning, regulatory management and compliance, risk management and expense management,” Borthwick said.

In a career spanning over 30 years, Okpara held senior positions at Morgan Stanley (MS.N) , American Express (AXP.N) and Ernst & Young (EY) before joining Citi.

Okpara will report to Borthwick, chief financial officer.
