Sept 16 (Askume) – Target Corp (TGT.N) said on Monday it will hire about 100,000 seasonal workers, the most it has hired in the past three years as it gears up for the crucial holiday season.

Retail sales growth during the holiday season is expected to be the weakest in six years, according to Deloitte, as persistent inflationary pressures eat away at consumer savings and shoppers become more frugal.

The retailer plans to hire seasonal workers in stores and supply chain facilities.

Bath & Body Works (BBWI.N) said last week that it would hire 30,000 seasonal workers during the holidays.
