But even at her most successful age, Bella Hadid never walked for Alessandro Michele’s Gucci. She was too glamorous, too conventionally beautiful, to be believed as part of that bizarre group, with her wide eyes and glam-rock hairstyle.
But that could soon change. Yesterday afternoon, Hadid was spotted leaving the Valentino showroom in Paris ahead of Michele’s first runway show for the Roman brand. She wore an oversized Saint Laurent trench coat, layered with typical model-attire: a fitted T-shirt, Alo Yoga leggings, Miu Miu biker boots and a Saint Laurent handbag big enough to hold her heels, so to speak – wet towels and other things that make up a working model’s arsenal. Could this mean her own comeback?
Last August, the model said, “I’ll be back when I’m ready,” while announcing that her condition was improving after 100 days of treatment for a severe case of Lyme disease. “I miss you all so much. I love you all so much. Though she has returned to the public stage, launched a fragrance line, and participated in several spit-and-dust rodeos, Hadid has yet to appear at Fashion Week . A Mitchell-sized event would provide a fitting platform for the model’s comeback, but Saint Laurent or even Miu Miu would surely be more obvious hosts.
