Katie Holmes has made her way onto our mood boards thanks to her stunning collection of button-down tops, jeans, and Mary Janes. But yesterday, the actress reminded us that even though she has the look of an average woman, she’s not a minimalist.
Holmes was prepping for the upcoming premiere of Our Town by dressing up as a beloved high school art teacher and drinking pre-rehearsal coffee. While she stuck to the classic links/jeans/Mary Jane silhouette, she also embraced the quirky vibe, thanks to her slim-fitting jeans in suede, velvet and corduroy. (The eye-catching pants, which retail for $2,370, are aptly called a “hippie-crazy remake.”)
The rest of Holmes’ outfit was kept fairly simple, with the emphasis on the jeans. She chose a black tie top with ruched fabric at the waist and her favorite teal velvet Mary Janes from VBI Venezia. Never one to carry a large bag of any sort, she opted for a white leather tote and finished her look with tan lens sunglasses and a baseball cap.
Katie Holmes wears a variety of outfits that bring back memories of eating lunch in our favorite high school teacher’s classroom. Hey, if this whole show doesn’t work out, she already has an art teacher outfit.
