By now you’ve undoubtedly heard that buttery yellow is the color of the season. Hailey Bieber wore a lightweight Jacquemus ruffle dress to celebrate the birth of her baby; Sabrina Carpenter wore a sparkly Miu Miu dress to the Variety Power of Young Hollywood party. Now, Kim Kardashian is jumping on the bandwagon.
My colleague Laia Garcia-Furtado wrote in 2022: “It’s a neutral color that can match the rest of your wardrobe and your personality, becoming whatever you want it to be.” By the grace of God, Kardashian has also made buttery yellow her go-to color. The reality star and entrepreneur was spotted leaving Saint West’s basketball game on Friday with her son’s backpack and a striking accessory: a giant butter-yellow messenger bag from ERL, priced at $1,850.
Kardashian opted for a simple look (by her standards) for her kids’ basketball game. In keeping with the sporty vibe, she wore a white crew-neck T-shirt that was tied at the waist and the sleeves rolled up to create the silhouette of a muscle tank top, paired with raw-edged Balenciaga sweatpants and black flip-flops. But, as she does, Kardashian completed the look with her perfect banana accessories.
This isn’t the first time a member of the Kardashian-West family has supported Los Angeles brand ERL. Designer Eli Russell Linnetz created North West’s streetwear-inspired look for Simba’s performance of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” at the Hollywood Bowl. It looks like Kim Kardashian is getting in on the latest trend in her own way with her large burlesque bag.
