Malia Obama has become a Gen Z style icon since she made her red carpet debut wearing a power-clash Vivienne Westwood ensemble in Deauville. The 26-year-old filmmaker and former First Daughter showed off her mastery of the chic look while stepping out for lunch in Los Angeles’ Larchmont neighborhood over the weekend.

Obama wore an orange graphic baby T-shirt over a button-down shirt, with the bottom of the shirt left open. He paired the brightly colored top with Dunst’s gray double-pleated knee-length skirt. While a pair of loafers might be the obvious styling choice, Obama opted for a more unique option that will surely score some points with hardcore fashion fans: a pair of 1017 ALYX 9 SM X ROA black patent leather hiking boots, which he wears with gray stockings. (No “millennial socks” here!)

Obama’s bag tells us a lot about her shopping habits. She’s carrying a green and navy plaid SC103 cross-body bag. The particular color Obama wore is made in collaboration with the fashion industry’s favorite Canadian cool fashion and streetwear retailer SSENSE. So the question arises: Malia Obama, can we see what’s on your SSENSE wish list?
