Selena Gomez, after her breakout appearance in “Only Murders in the Building,” is already preparing to promote her film “Emilia Perez” at the New York Film Festival (Emilia Perez). But don’t expect anything formal here: Gomez stuck to her tried-and-tested red carpet style and wore a black dress.
Gomez has become a bit of a connoisseur of black dresses this time and knows that wearing black doesn’t have to be boring. At the New York premiere of Emilia Perez, she enlisted the help of Vera Wang, who measured a custom-made dress for Emilia Perez to suit the occasion. This floor-length halterneck dress features a large bow at the back of the neck, a draped neckline and a cinched waist. Gomez accessorized with matching black arm warmers and huge black patent leather platforms from Giuseppe Zanotti. Gomez pulled her hair back into a sleek bun and showed off pear-shaped diamond dangling earrings that matched her ring.
Later that night, Gomez attended a post-premiere dinner at Nobu in midtown Manhattan wearing an appropriate little black dress. She opted for a black lace miniskirt over black leggings and pointed-toe shoes. She added a touch of menswear inspiration with a black tuxedo jacket.
Don’t just believe us: Selena Gomez says there are countless ways to look all black.
