If your clothes don’t match, are you still friends? According to longtime friends Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid, the answer is no. Here’s the case: Last night in New York, the couple grabbed dinner at a corner store and both wore trench coats for the occasion. (Of course, this isn’t the first time the two have dressed alike: They’ve been dressing alike for years.)
Swift and Hadid’s stylish coats complemented each other more than they matched. Hadid opted for a bright brown trench coat, paired with a white T-shirt, layered necklaces, and classic khaki pants. (We’re also loving her buttery yellow bag, which is a hot color this season.) Meanwhile, Swift chose a green double-breasted trench coat from Vivienne Westwood — which matched perfectly with Hadid’s brown one, as Swift wore brown snakeskin boots (also from Westwood).
Only one question remains: did Swift and Hadid meet before the dinner and plan their looks completely? Or maybe they’re such good friends that they already have an idea of what the other person is going to wear. Call it a matching outfit.
