Sharing the screenshot, a Facebook post read: “The NHS is bloated, inefficient, not fit for purpose and corrupt; that’s why they plan to abolish GB Energy.
However, a Guardian spokesperson said in an emailed statement to Askume that the screenshot was “never an article or headline published by the Guardian.”
A spokesperson for the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero said the screenshot was fake.
GB Energy was a flagship policy of the new Labour government in the UK . It would not provide electricity to homes directly, but planned to develop, invest in and own renewable energy projects.
Miliband, the UK’s Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero, has been a leading advocate for UK energy companies.
