China slams US bill targeting biotech companies, calls it 'discriminatory'

BEIJING, Sept 10 (Askume) – China’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the United States’ passing of a bill restricting trade with biotech companies such as Wuxi AppTech (603259.SS) and BGI is a “discriminatory” act against Chinese companies.

China urges the United States to respect market principles and trade rules, promote the smooth progress of the bill and stop abusing various excuses to suppress Chinese companies, Commerce Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said at a press conference.
