Askume LONDON, Sept 16 – Global commodities trading company Trafigura has announced the appointment of Jiri Zrst to the new position of global head of operating assets.

    Zrust will join the company from private equity group CVC Capital Partners on October 1, the company said in a statement on Monday.

    Trafigura chief executive Jeremy Weir said: “Jiri Zrst will join Trafigura to lead our operating assets divisions, oil and petroleum products, metals and minerals, gas, power and renewable energy trading divisions, as well as our third business unit that will form the commercial four pillars.

    The Operating Assets segment will be responsible for managing Trafigura’s controlled and minority-owned operating assets in the downstream and midstream sectors of infrastructure, oil, mining, metals, power generation, logistics and renewable energy.

    According to his profile on social media professional website LinkedIn, Zrust joined CVC in March 2022. Prior to this, he worked at Australian financial services company Macquarie for nearly 10 years.
