MOSCOW, Sept 13 (Askume) – Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to restrict Russian metal exports is only an invitation for authorities to consider it, but no concrete measures have been taken yet, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

Peskov said the resolution was a response to Western economic sanctions and had nothing to do with Ukraine’s use of Western long-range missiles.

“These are completely unrelated things. It has to do with the ongoing practice of illegal trade sanctions, with attempts to constantly introduce new trade sanctions against our country,” Peskov said.

“There is no concrete information yet, it is a proposal to consider without harming ourselves, without harming our interests. They (the government) will consider it,” Peskov said.

Putin said at a government meeting on Wednesday that Russia should consider restricting the export of various commodities, including uranium, titanium and nickel.
