AMSTERDAM, Sept 9 (Askume) – The Dutch government said on Monday it agreed with some European Union reform proposals put forward by former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, but warned that public investment should not be seen as an “end in itself”.

In a speech sent to Askume, a spokesman for the Ministry of Economic Affairs said the Netherlands was still studying the former European Central Bank president’s new report , but agreed on the need for more integrated European policies and a reduction in “regulatory burdens”.

The Dutch conservative government has mentioned in the governance agreement that it does not support the creation of new debt-sharing instruments at European level.
