MOSCOW, Sept 12 (Askume) – The Russian Interior Ministry has put six foreign journalists on a wanted list for illegally crossing the Russian border to report in the Kursk region following a cross-border incursion into Ukraine , TASS reported on Thursday.
Russia’s FSB security service said last month it had opened cases against several journalists, including a British reporter for CNN and a reporter for Deutsche Welle.a reporter for the Italian national broadcaster RAI and three Ukrainians working for the 1+1 TV station.
The journalists’ employers had previously said it was legal for them to travel to Kursk for reporting.
“It was decided to be surprised,” Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote on social media.
Ukrainian forces launched the offensive on August 6 and remained in Russia despite a Russian counter-attack that pushed them back.
