WELLINGTON, Sept 13 (Askume) – House prices in New Zealand rose last month, the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) said on Thursday, with data showing market confidence is rising.

REINZ data showed that the seasonally adjusted median house price rose 2.1% in August from July, but was 0.6% lower than in August 2023.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, national home sales declined 2.4% in July, down 0.5% from the previous year.

The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand said August 2024 data showed an increase in confidence, optimism and activity compared to the previous year, with many sectors seeing a significant increase in activity despite a slight decline in overall sales.
