ATLANTA, Sept 20 (Askume) – U.S. Democratic candidate Kamala Harris said on Friday she was trying to get a second chance to debate Republican rival Donald Trump in this year’s presidential race.
“I’m going to try to have another debate. We’ll see,” US Vice President Harris told an audience of about 600 people at the Cobb Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Atlanta.
Harris and Trump had their first debate on September 10, and polls showed the Democratic candidate won.
Trump said last week that he would not participate in another debate against Harris before the November 5 election.
“There will not be a third debate,” the former president wrote on his social media site Truth Social. Trump debated President Joe Biden before facing Harris in June.
During the debate, Harris repeatedly attacked Trump’s qualifications for office, support for abortion restrictions, and numerous legal troubles, putting Trump on the defensive.
