Sept. 12 – Eugenio Suárez hit two home runs, Randal Grichuk, Ketel Marte and Adri Adrian del Castillo also hit deep shots and the Arizona Diamondbacks completed a two-game sweep with a 14–4 win over the Texas Rangers in Phoenix on Wednesday.

Marte finished with three hits, including a double, and drove in four runs for Arizona (82-64), which won its third consecutive game and scored in every inning except the third. Suarez went 4-4 with 2 RBI and 4 runs, while Grichuk had 3 RBI.

The Diamondbacks had a season-high 13 extra-base hits and defeated the Rangers 16–9.

Marcus Semien homered for Texas (70-76), which lost for the third time in its last five games.

Diamondbacks starter Merrill Kelly allowed three runs on four hits, walked two on four hits with none out in the fifth inning, then exited the game with right hamstring cramps.

Dylan Floro (6-4) pitched a scoreless sixth inning to get the win. Jordan Montgomery pitched three scoreless innings and earned his first career save.

Arizona took a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Cody Bradford (5-3). Marte hit a double first and scored on Corbin Carroll’s triple. Grichuk then hit a two-run home run to left field.

The Diamondbacks added two runs in the second inning on Suarez’s first home run and an RBI single by Matte.

Semien hit his 20th home run with a two-out solo shot in the third inning to put the Rangers ahead 5–1.

Texas cut the gap to 5–2 on Nathaniel Lowe’s single in the fourth inning, but the Diamondbacks responded in the bottom of the inning with Marte’s three-run home run.

Bradford allowed eight runs on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out four with zero walks.

The Rangers stayed within striking distance with two runs in the fifth. Semien singled against Slade Cecconi and Adolis Garcia added a run-scoring double to make the score 8–4.

Del Castillo hit a three-run homer off Chase Anderson in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Arizona an 11–4 lead. The Diamondbacks extended their lead on Christian Walker’s RBI double in the sixth inning.

Suarez hit a solo home run in the seventh inning, his 28th long ball of the season. Arizona State scored another run in the eighth inning on Grichuk’s RBI double.
