Sept 19 (Askume) – Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Shohei Ohtani showcased his talents in Miami on Thursday, becoming the first MLB player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in the same season.

Ohtani, who needed a stolen base and two home runs to accomplish the historic feat, stole bases in his first two at-bats and hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth and seventh innings.

After the second long pass, Ohtani came out of the dugout and waved to the rabid Dodger fans at Lonboe Park.

Ohtani was 5-for-5 in this game, including 2 doubles, 2 stolen bases, 2 home runs, and 7 RBIs.

The Dodgers, who led the National League West, took a 14–3 lead into the seventh inning against the ailing Marlins.
