Sept. 19—Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Michael Hall pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges relating to a domestic dispute earlier this summer.

Hall, 21, entered a plea deal to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct in court in Avon Lake, Ohio. Judge Alison Manning sentenced him to 30 days of probation, a $250 fine and two years of probation.

“I’m sorry about the whole situation,” Hall said in court, according to Cleveland.com. “I’m in counseling and trying to get better.”

The protective order between Hall and his fiancée was lifted last week at the fiancée’s request, the website reports.

The NFL placed Hall on the commissioner’s exempt list last month as a result of the initial allegations.

Hall, an Ohio native who played three seasons at Ohio State, was selected by the Browns in the second round (54th overall) of April’s draft.
