MANCHESTER, England, Sept 15 (Askume) – The decider of the three-match Twenty20 series between England and Australia was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of persistent rain at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The match in Manchester was due to start at 1330 GMT, but after several pitch inspections the referee decided there was no chance of play starting and the game was called off at around 1520 GMT.

The three-match series was tied at 1-1 with the visitors winning the first T20I by 28 runs while England bounced back to win the second match by 3 wickets.

The focus of both teams will now be on the five-match ODI series starting at Trent Bridge from Thursday.
