Sept 19 (Askume) – LIV golfers will be eligible to compete on the PGA Championship and U.S. Ryder Cup teams, the PGA of America announced on Thursday.

Liv Golf’s Brooks Koepka, a member of last year’s US Ryder Cup team, was allowed to retain his PGA membership until 2024 during an exemption period, but it is currently unclear whether the organisation will continue to compete in professional golf.

“Moving forward, all on-site golfers will be eligible to compete in the PGA Championship, as will any U.S. player who earns points to compete in the Ryder Cup or selects to join the U.S. team as captain,” the PGA of America said.

“This is consistent with the LIV golfers who have competed in the PGA Championship the past two years. Brooks Koepka was a member of the US Ryder Cup team last year.”

The decision clears the way for LIV golfers such as reigning US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, who is third in the 2025 US Ryder Cup standings but is ineligible to participate in PGA Tour events with the majority of points available for entry.
