LONDON, Sept 19 (Askume) – Defending champions Italy will face Argentina in the Davis Cup quarter-finals in Malaga in November, while the United States will face Australia.

The group finals will see the top eight national teams compete in Spanish coastal cities.

Host nation Spain will face the Netherlands and Canada will face Germany.

The final will feature two singles and one doubles match.

Italy are without world number one Sinner in the group stage, having won all three games, but the world number one could return in Malaga. Argentina advanced from a tough group that included Great Britain and Canada.

The United States also struggled in the group final but the 32-time Davis Cup champions can call on some big names in Malaga, where they will have to overtake Australia, the second most successful nation with 28 titles.

Italy and Spain are on opposite sides of the draw, meaning a final clash between Sinner and third-placed Carlos Alcaraz is likely.

The final eight knockout rounds will take place at the Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpena from November 19 to 24.
