Sept. 10 – Chicago Bears rookie receiver Roman Odunmi suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, according to multiple media reports on Monday night.

Bears coach Matt Eberflus said Odunje was busy with blocking duties when he was injured. Odunje was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday and Eberflus was initially unsure about the severity of the injury.

“We’ll see,” Eberflus told reporters. “I don’t have enough information right now.”

O’Douani, the ninth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, had an 11-yard catch in Chicago’s 24-17 season-opener win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

He made a spectacular catch in the second quarter when Odunje leapt to catch the ball, which bounced off a defender’s helmet. Odunje fumbled the ball after the catch, but teammate Taven Jenkins recovered the ball and Caro Santos kicked the ball in for a 17-3 lead at halftime.

Odunji, 22, caught 92 passes for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns in 15 games in 2023, his final season at Washington.
