Sept. 23 — LSU star linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. is expected to be a first-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, 247Sports and ESPN reported Sunday, but he will miss the remainder of the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Perkins injured his right knee during a tackle during the Tigers’ 34-17 win over UCLA on Saturday.
LSU has not confirmed the severity of the injury.
The junior has 17 tackles and one fumble in four games this season for LSU (3-1). In 31 college games, Perkins has 164 tackles (27.5 for loss), 13 sacks, two interceptions and seven forced fumbles.
He was selected to the SEC First Team as a freshman in 2022 and was selected to the Second Team last season.
Entering the season, Perkins was ranked as the most draft-eligible linebacker prospect by ESPN. Many mock drafts saw him as a first-round pick.
