Askume LIVERPOOL, England, Sept 21 – Luis Diaz scored twice as Liverpool beat Bournemouth 3-0 at home in the Premier League on Saturday, helping the Reds recover from a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest. The team bounced back from a 3-0 defeat last week.

Dias was superb in the first half, exploiting Liverpool’s defensive frailties with a superb shot from the left wing to put the visitors in a difficult position and the game was effectively over at half-time.

Arne Slot’s side were grateful to VAR for an offside call that cancelled out Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenho’s first goal and when the goal was ruled out, they were staring at another heavy defeat, with the groans of the home fans turning to joy.

Dias then kept working hard and forced goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga into a brilliant save in the 8th minute. He threatened several times after that and finally put the ball past Kepa in the 26th minute.

Diaz scored his second goal less than three minutes later to give Bournemouth a five-four lead, the Colombian using his left foot to slip the ball through the legs of Kepa Kepa, his fifth goal in five league games.

Darwin Nunez then scored a brilliant third goal, attacking from the right, slowing down but suddenly coming back into gear and firing in with his left foot to make it 3-0.

As the game looked far beyond the reach of the visitors, not much happened in the second half except for the Premier League debut for Liverpool’s Enrico Chiesa, who came off the bench and showed his talent to lead the Merseyside side to victory over Juventus C. Seat.

Although Liverpool were dominant in attack, the defence looked vulnerable at times and goalkeeper Kelleher had to claw the ball away when a corner kick hit the crossbar, but Bournemouth had no chance to counterattack and the home side won comfortably.

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson told the BBC: “Obviously last week was disappointing but we managed to bounce back on Tuesday (by beating AC Milan in the Champions League) – and that’s to get us back into the rhythm in the league. He also said he was happy to see Nunez score his first league goal of the season.

“Darwin has to be patient,” said Robertson, “He’s working hard in training and trying to get better, like all of us… he’s waiting for his chance and he was excellent today.”
