Sept 15 (Askume) – Nottingham Forest coach Nuno Espirito Santo said he was proud of his side’s performance as they beat Liverpool 1-0 in Saturday’s Premier League match despite injuries to key players.First win at Anfield since 1969 .

Hudson-Odoi, who came off the bench, scored the only goal of the game, strengthening the team’s unbeaten record of 2 wins and 2 draws in the league this year.

“Very happy. Today we have fans in our stadium who weren’t even born (in 1969). It shows how difficult it is to play football here,” Espirito Santo told reporters.

“We are proud of the way we played as a team … it was about taking our chances at the right time and we did that.”

Forest have lost their two starting midfielders after Danilo injured his ankle against Bournemouth last month and Ibrahim Sangaré was ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Centre back Willy Boly is also out with a calf injury.

“Unfortunately, Ibrahima Sangaré will have to miss some time,” Espírito Santo said. “I hope we can prepare everyone. Unfortunately we don’t have three players… we have to be prepared for everything.”

He added that Forest have also deployed midfielders Nicolas Dominguez and Elliot Anderson on the wing to keep an eye on Liverpool’s full-backs.

“It’s based on the idea and the belief that you can develop it,” he said.

Forest, who finished 17th last season, visit Brighton next Sunday.
